Description:

Brown butterfly.

Habitat:

Forest edges and clearings, shrubby areas in ravines and river valleys and sparse woodlands. Also found in montane habitats up to 0–3,000 metres.
Europe, Asia and Northen Africa.

Notes:

This species has a large number of generations per year.
The Wall Brown gets its name from the characteristic behaviour of resting with wings two-thirds open on any bare surface, including bare ground and, of course, walls!
