Field Notes

Description:

I was hoping to get a picture of the Tree and House Sparrow side by side facing the camera, as they were on the fence outside my window. By the time I got the camera ready they had transferred to the tree. The Tree Sparrow on the left has the visible brown crown but the black cheek spots are hidden. The House Sparrow does not have cheek spots and has a grey crown stripe. This icture serves as a record for the Tree Sparrow.

Habitat:

Garden on limestone outcrop in foothills of los Serranos mountains.
