Description:
This speedwell is an annual herbaceous plant, with weak stems that form a dense, prostrate massifs (pic N°4). The flowers are small, barely 1 cm wide, alone and on long stems, sky-blue with dark stripes and white center.
Habitat:
The plant is originating in Asia, but was imported as ornamental; and spread; becoming one of the most common weeds in gardens. Grows everywhere, here observed on edges of a walking path, in between the forest and lowland pastures.
Notes:
The genus Veronica was previously classified in figwort family (Scrophulariaceae), but got recently classified in plantain (Plantaginaceae) family, which explains a bit of confusion with references.
