Description:

•They have large eyespots on the wings to intimidate predators.
•They hibernate over winter before laying eggs in early spring.
•The adult butterflies eat nectar, tree sap and rotten fruit.

Habitat:

Woods, parks, fields, meadows, pastures and gardens
-I saw this butterfly in Hildesheim(Germany)
