Description:
Rubus fruticosus is a term or a name designing a species aggregate; or many species belonging to subgenus Rubus (including natural hybrids). All of these look alike, and are producing the same edible fruit, or blackberry. These plants are climbing thorny perennials, bearing biennial stems from the perennial root system. In the first year, the biennial stem produces a vigorous vegetative growth with large compound leaves and without flowers. This stem produces lateral flowering shots in the second year.
Habitat:
Here, growing from a crack in wall in our garden in Dubrovnik; this is a periphery of an urban setting in Mediterranean, and the garden itself is rather dry and stony.
