Description:
A Needham's Skimmer dragonfly spotted perching on vegetation along the boardwalk that goes through the central wetland area at Huntley Meadows Park. This individual is a male, as indicated by its reddish-orange coloration and the terminal appendages at the end of its abdomen. A male Slaty Skimmer dragonfly (Libellula incesta) is shown perching on the same vegetation as the Needham's Skimmer. Related Resource: http://bugguide.net/node/view/2650
