Field Notes

Description:

She was a large female! She was heavy and about the length of my size 9 women's foot. Her head and feet had beautiful lime green lines. Unfortunately her carapace was scratched. I wonder if she had a run in with a prop or spear fisherman.

Habitat:

She was basking on a log at Payne Lake Michigan until I scared her off her log accidentally. I had to catch her to get the photo. Don't worry, I was gentle.
