Hi hdude07, I agree, wildlife rescuers perform a really important role, & we do run features on rescue & rehab in the Project Noah blog. Here are links to a few features -

Hi Hdude07, I know Karen commented in your favour on Project Noah's behalf but can I please add that we would like to see the field completed correctly as per our FAQs http://www.projectnoah.org/faq The habitat should state that it is a rescue centre, or whatever it is where you have this bird, the Notes should give us the name of the centre and we would like to see a story in the description of how this bird came to be there. Many of our member work in places such as your and we do appreciate the work you are doing.
And another thing. My captive animal images are not from zoos but from rehab facility that i work in. So get your facts and start appreciating the amount of work we put in saving these species
I disagree. I think wildlife rehabilitation should play an important role in PN. I think they should even make an article on the importance of these organizations. People post things in the wild which is fine but posting patients from wildlife rehab are just as important. Why? People need to know the change we make in the world and the role we play in wildlife conservation!! Isnt what PN is all about? Promoting wildlife conservation? I think it is. How disrespectful are your comments
Daniel & Gilma, this is what it says in our FAQs -
"Zoos play a key role in exposing us to a wide variety of plants and animals and many zoos are instrumental in rehabilitating injured animals and protecting endangered species. Sadly, as more species go extinct in the wild, zoos are becoming a last refuge for many plants and animals and it’s important to highlight those efforts and bring awareness to those species."
I agree, even when they are in a rehabilitation center...it is so very sad, but mostly they should not be here in PN when they are in a ZOO that is totally heart-breaking to me!!
