Field Notes

Description:

Medium size hawk with a light color underside (seen while flying), dark back, and white patch above the tail. Spotted flying over a soy-bean harvested field next to a wetland. Poor quality picture due to using max zoom across field from roadside. When I tried to get a little closer It flew away. I believe this to be a Northern Harrier, but want to verify before I add it to my life list.

Habitat:

Agricultural/Wetland
