Field Notes

Description:

Low plant with soft, finely hairy stems. Leaves rounded, grasping the stem (amplexicaule). Flowers about 1,5 cm. long. The plant flowers very early in the spring and sometimes (when there are not many pollinators) self-pollinates.

Habitat:

Meadow in Seih-Sou, the suburban forest of Thessaloniki, Greece.

Notes:

Greek name: Λαίμιο. Edible raw or cooked.
