Field Notes

Description:

The rusty tree frog, Hypsiboas boans, is a species of frog in the Hylidae family found in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Panama, Peru, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, and Venezuela. <br>
Males are between 101 and 128 mm and females between 91 and 123 mm.

Habitat:

Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, rivers, and intermittent freshwater marshes. I found this critter above 840 m above sea level, near the jungle of Atlantic Forest, at Parque São Vicente, in Petrópolis, Rio de Janeiro.
