Description:

Reddish Egret is a medium to large heron (~70 to 80 cm). It hunts/forages in shallow, salt water. Unlike some other herons that stand still to hunt, it is often seen running and chasing its prey. It comes in a dark morph and white morph.

Spotted at J.N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge
