Field Notes

Description:

This spider is approximately 3 cm long and 2 cm wide. It had tiny, round, black eyes. The abdomen was shaped like a triangle. It was red, except the back, which was orange, and had red speckled dots. Its head was a shiny, bright red color and has many white hairs sticking up. The legs were a pattern of red and white, but the middle of the legs were black. The legs were also hairy like the head.

Habitat:

The spider was found in the SIngapore American School rainforest. It was resting on its leaf, which stretched among a spun 3D spider web. The climate there was shady as it was well sheltered by trees looming above. The spider did not move when I moved the leaf.
