Field Notes

Description:

This is a medium size green parakeet, about 23 cm with orange forehead, yellow eye-ring, blue crown, and some blue in the wings,, they have a pointed tail and like most of parakeets they are gregarious ( groups from 20 to 100 ind) the like eating fruits seeds and flowers, Ficus, Spondias, Bursera, Ceiba Combretum, Gliricidia.
It is found from Mexico to the North Pacific of Costa Rica, and more recently seen in the central part of the country.

Habitat:

Dry forest and Savannas

Notes:

This particular ones were seen close to Monteverde in a elevation of 1300 meters over sea level
