Description:
Tiny Treehopper about 4 mm long. The bright red prothorax looks like a plant gall until it flies and it flies readily, much more than most treehoppers. Very beautifully colored with red, turquoise, green and black. Large black eyes. Maybe a species of Acutalis, Family Membracidae, Smiliinae.
Habitat:
Forest bushes, Finca Argovia, Ruta de Cafe, Soconusco area of southern Chiapas, Mexico. About 1 hour from Tapachula.
