Field Notes

Description:

Flickers with the grey head, dark eyes, spotted underside, U shaped bib on chest. Barred wings and back. While the Red-shafted has the reddish color under the wings and tail and the Yellow-shafted has they yellow under. If you can't see under the wings and tail you look at the head. The Yellow has dark slash on it's cheek and the Red has a red. The Red has no red nape while the Yellow does.
There has been sightings of Yellow in the area so this maybe a hybrid.
This bird has the dark slash on the cheek like the Yellow and has no red on the nape like the Red.

Habitat:

Wooded areas with trees and shrubs but not too tall so it can perch on and can see.
