Field Notes

Description:

A small brown Hopper with transparent wings twice the length of the body. The wings are patterned with dark brown. About 7 mm long. Family Cixiidae. This one might be a species of Oecleus. (http://www.americaninsects.net/h/oecleus-sp.html).

Habitat:

Came to an ultraviolet light. Finca Argovia, Ruta de Cafe, Soconusco area of southern Chiapas, Mexico. About 1 hour from Tapachula.
