Field Notes

Description:

A stout lizard that is very aggressive towards other reptiles. Has orangish red spots on the sides and brown spots everywhere. Has an unmistakably long tail and is not very fast compared to a whiptail. One king of the lizards.

Habitat:

Brush and cacti for shelter. May be seen basking on roads or walkways. Is strictly diurnal.
