Description:

This Webworm Moth looks like a beetle at first glance due to tightly furled wings, but is in fact a moth. Wings are bright orange with white dots ringed in black. When resting, they close their wings tightly to their bodies. Adults are active during the daytime and are good pollinators. This specimen was feeding on a buttonbush plant next to a lake.

Habitat:

Georgia Piedmont / Indian Springs State Park
