Field Notes

Habitat:

Mixed deciduous/coniferous woodlands with an open swamp-like area across the road.

Notes:

A few days before this spotting, my sister had found a deer that must have been attacked by a coyote (Canis latrans), or another large mammalian predator. A few days later, sure enough, a Turkey Vulture visited us to take a look at the potential food source. It was so cool to see this one up so close!

Selma, thank you so much for your kind words. I have done the same for the same reason. :-)
Thank you very much, Tom! I've put a trail camera out there in hopes of catching some creatures!
Nice close up pictures! I wonder what else might show up at that deer carcass.
I can't wait to spot one of these up close for myself. Cool.
It's looks like in image three the bird had be defecated on :-)
