Field Notes

Description:

Tall white bird w/ long neck, black legs, yellow bill.

Habitat:

Found primarily near water; but can be seen near gardens, residences, and possibly fields. This specimen was observed along w/ several others of his kind in the wetlands of a County nature Preserve as they flew carefully in through the trees and began to search the swampy waters for food. He took a position on top of a dead tree to watch the water beneath him.
