Description:

Scaphura nigra is a polimorphic and batesian mimic of wasps (Pepsis, Entypus and Polistes), existing three different colour patterns to the adults and each pattern of mimic has only one wasp genera like model. This male (adult) is mimicking a wasp of the Pepsis genus.<br><br>

Habitat:

I found this katydid near the jungle of Atlantic Forest, in Petrópolis, Rio de Janeiro, about 840m above sea level.
