Field Notes

Description:

Impressively spiny Assassin, especially on the head, pronotum and front legs. Shades of brown with dark wing membranes. About 1 cm long. Family Reduviidae. There are also 2 oddly shaped red mites attached to the side of it's abdomen.

Habitat:

On bushes at night along the roadside, north of Tapachula, near the small town of Lazaro Cardenas, Chiapas.

Thank you very much bayucca :) I agree that the best match seems to be Sinea integra. Based on the key of your last cited reference, it does have spines on the pro-lobe of the pronotum and the lower line of spines on the front femora are all in line. It is supposed to be mainly Mexican and not very common any where else. Wish my pictures were better.
Maybe something in the genus Sinea, Sindala or Acholla??
