Field Notes

Description:

Tiny songbird with a reddish breast and belly, gray back, black cap and a white stripe over the eye. Black stripe through the eye and a white throat. Very active and often follows other small birds like Chickadees.

Habitat:

Connetquot State Park, NY. Shrubs on the edge of a field.

Notes:

Do not adjust your computer screen! This little bird was hanging upside down and probing the cone for food.
