Field Notes

Description:

Black and light "blue" banded snake. Lighter on the belly and at the tail the bands were connected. This was not such a big one (juvenile?) about 60 cm maybe. (didn't measure it :-))
What was interesting is that one of his bands (nr5 from the head down ) was not the whole way round. (see picture 4 )
I could not really see its lips (if they were yellow) as it kept on sticking its head in the coral looking for something to eat.

Habitat:

Koh Racha Yai, Andaman Sea, Phuket, Thailand

Notes:

I am going to keep a look out for this Banded Krait especially now it is so easy to regognise.
