Field Notes

Description:

About 6cm long, excluding the tail. Overall light brown/grey colouration, with orange/yellow on head and 1st half of the body; more sparsely spotted than other specimens, but with black spots being larger and more conspicuous. Small spiny crest running down the back.

Habitat:

Found on lava rocks along the Wall of tears trail.

Notes:

Lava lizards belong to the Iguanidae family, being related to Iguanas.
