Description:

The Splash Cups are a type of Bird's Nest Fungi. The Blue Jay feather just happen to land on top of them. Broadly cup shaped, narrowing below, with lined inner cups and dark eggs attached. The season is July-October. Thus the eggs have popped-out by March.

Habitat:

dead trees and mulch.
