Field Notes

Description:

Noted this lacewing, ~3/4 inch long including antennae, on the exterior of the dual-pane patio door, drawn to the nearby outside light.

Notes:

Set camera to macro, and placed lens directly against inside glass... hence the underside view.

Initially I had no idea what this was - but am now leaning to Green Lacewing (Chrysoperla rufilabris). I see from Wikipedia that classification is complicated and has frequently changed — so I am hoping for ID assistance from the Project Noah community.

Thank you, Single D. Yes, the vein patterns are amazingly intricate and beautiful!!
Reckon this is why lace was brought into clothing. Very intricate pattern. Nice shot.
