Field Notes

Habitat:

Native to Mexico. Often grown as a landscape plant in the southeast and Gulf regions of the United States as well as throughout Caribbean Islands. Prolific invasive poor soil tolerant can grow in disturbed arid areas and roadsides. Spotted growing over boulders in disturbed arid field.

Notes:

Has many common names and as one suggests it is often full of bees while in bloom. This plant reminds me of my childhood as it was growing along a fence in my grandmother's house in Cuba.
