Field Notes

Description:

I saw this Fritillary flying along a path in a forested area behind my friends house in a Tokyo suburb, but I didn't have my camera with me. When I went back early the next day, it (or a similar female) was basking on leaves close to the path and 'allowed' me to take a couple of photos.

Habitat:

Seen in a park in a residential area of Chiba, Tokyo.

My comments keep disappearing so thanks again Ashley. Most unexpected, I must say. It put a smile on my face.
Haha, thanks Dr NamgyalT.Sherpa
Your spotting has been nominated for the Spotting of the Week. The winner will be chosen by the Project Noah Rangers based on a combination of factors including: uniqueness of the shot, status of the organism (for example, rare or endangered), quality of the information provided in the habitat and description sections. There is a subjective element, of course; the spotting with the highest number of Ranger votes is chosen. Congratulations on being nominated!
