Field Notes

Description:

Hard for me to tell if it was a Carolina chickadee or a Black-capped chickadee but its song seemed faster than a Black-capped and the battlefield is located in the Carolina chickadee range, but could overlap with the Black-capped chickadee.

Habitat:

Mixed hardwood, mature forest near a stream

Notes:

Building a nest, pair flying back and forth to this hole in a snag
