Horsehead grasshopper

Proscopiidae comprises a family of grasshoppers (order Ortopthera) known for the mimicry of their representative species, which are very similar to sticks and dry branches. Due to this characteristic, such insects are popularly called "stick bug", as well as the members of another order of insects, known as Phasmatodea.

They have about 80 species described and are found throughout South America, living in most cases in the midst of vegetation, such as grass, where their camouflage power, of course, is even more effective.
