Field Notes

Description:

Largely black with a matching white patch on both wings. It has bright red feet and I thought I'd seen flashes of red in its eyes. It has a short pointed beak, and it is and adept diver. You should see them swim! It's wings are short, and seemed more efficient under water.

Approx. 12 of them in the area, swimming in pairs mostly. They were around the pier at Londale Quay.
