Field Notes

Description:

•They normaly grow 2 to 2,5 meters in length in the wild (the record is 3,5 meters)
•The broad snout is used to rip trough the dense vegetation of the marshes.
•They can crush shells to feed on turtles and snails.

Habitat:

Freshwater marshes, swamps, mangroves, slow moving waters
-I saw this caiman in Cataratas del Iguazú (Argentina)
