Habitat:

The shores of a large central European lake. One pair seen with numerous mallards and tufted ducks.

Notes:

Not so long ago this species was not often sighted in Switzerland. The recent increase in the number of Red-crested Pochards wintering in Switzerland is reflecting the general improvement of the lake water quality.
