Field Notes

Description:

A rare species of salamander found in Ward Bayou Wildlife Management area under a rotting log near a muddy area.

Habitat:

Flooded forest nearby- on higher ground in dryer younger forest with some larger fallen logs. Nearby mud (within 5 ft of log).

Notes:

Only found a handful of times in Mississippi.
