Tree Swallow
Tachycineta bicolor
41.5619, -73.2227
Field Notes
Description:
These stunning birds have a deep-blue iridescent back and a white breast. They are streamlined and small in size with long, pointed wings and a short, slightly notched tail.
Habitat:
Spotted in a meadow adjacent to a river and dense, mixed forest.
Notes:
I have seen swallows nearly everywhere I go this spring. They seem so much more abundant this year, and also very bold in that they don't seem to fear my approach.
