Field Notes

Description:

Black or very dark chin, wide black upper wing coverts (both favor Eastern Whip-poor-will over Chuck-will's-widow). Another photographer obtained photos when it flushed and landed on a branch which clearly shows white tail corners consistent with a male E Whip-poor-will, and the white was not restricted to just the inner webbing like it is in a Chuck-will's-widow.

Habitat:

Heavily wooded area, city park
