Field Notes

Description:

Adenium obesum, from a family of Apocynaceaes, is a species of flowering plant native to the Sahel regions, south of the Sahara. In Turkana region , where i saw it for the first time, it is called Desert Rose - other common names include mock azalea, impala lily, Sabi star...
At this time of the year, plants were omnipresent and showed a mass of flowers - light rose to bright red in coloring, and a think stunted tree stem without leaves.

Habitat:

As explained, in Turkana area, which is very arid and haven't receive rains for a long time, this flowering plant was omnipresent - I found it almost everywhere.
