Field Notes

Description:

Three cream-colored mushrooms, darkening to light brown toward the cap center. One individual much larger than the other two. Caps convex, smooth. No measurements taken; following measurements are “eyeball” and memory approximations. Stems cream-colored equal. Gills cream-colored, close, attached, adnate. Largest individual had 6-7 cm cap diameter, smaller two about half that. Stem height ~ 4 cm. Stem diameter of one of smaller individuals ~ 4 mm. Stem of largest individual not observed.

Habitat:

Insular tropical mesic mixed forest.

Notes:

Spotting along the switchbacks portion of the Kuliouou Ridge Trail.
