Field Notes

Description:

Flame-of-the-forest, a.k.a. Bastard teak, is a tree of about 6 to 7 meters tall tree, with large oval dark-green leaves, and a multitude of large orange flowers.

Habitat:

Seen close to the beach, bordering the road in rural area - being just in front of one of the new luxurious hotels (but not inside the compound), it was not clear if the tree was planted as ornamental tree or it is spontaneously growing local one...

Notes:

Many thanks to Mauna for the help with ID.
