Field Notes

Description:

Small white flowers. Petals have thread-like filaments that look very artistic. The edible fruit is green with snake-like striations on it.

Habitat:

Growing these in my rooftop terrace garden...hoping to harvest some vegetables...will keep posting the fruits when these are formed.

Notes:

Called Chichinga in Bangla. The fruits are elongated and tiny stones need to be tied to the free end so that they grow straight, making peeling and chopping easy.
