Field Notes

Description:

Small to medium noisy birds with dark plumage of charcoal and grey. Wings usually have a distinct brown tint towards the outer end. Often seen in groups of a dozen or more and almost always feeding on the ground. Quite noisy.

Habitat:

Open woodlands.

Notes:

Also called 'Grey Jumper' these are very amusing to watch. Native to Australia it roams woodlands eating insects near ground.
