Is that what they are! I have photographed them once before and wondered what they were. Thank you to Mac and also to John for the ID.
These are not eggs - but whiteflies (Aleyrodidae) with long waxy filaments. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whitefly Only relatively few whiteflies have such long filaments.
