Field Notes

Description:

Medium size butterfly of the family Pieridae, about 3 to 4 cm long, with some 4,5 to 5 cm of wingspan. Hairy thorax, and white wings above sporting one black spot and a blackish smear on the tip of forewing. Wings are yellowish-greenish below.

Habitat:

Observed on edges and walking paths of deciduous, predominantly oak, (Bagasse forest) forest on France-Switzerland border, in a valley of lake Geneva, just in between Jura and Alps mountains ranges.
