Field Notes

Description:

These fruits are approximately the size of a tennis ball, the skin is quite thick. A few of the fruits had fallen to the floor and were rotting away The vigorous climber has scrambled through a large clump of bamboo, but all died back except the fruit. Has a strong smell similar to Solanum. I brought one fruit back to the house to cut open.

Habitat:

This plant was growing through a patch of bamboo in the middle of a dry river bed
