Field Notes

Description:

Another lifer for me - this bustard is a large terrestrial bird, size of a turkey, about 1m in length, and this couple were spectacular as they moved slowly, and undisturbed over this rocky terrain.

Habitat:

Wooded rocky terrain, arid one, in north-western province Kunene of Namibia

Notes:

The species is not well known, but it is considered endangered.

Wonderful spotting, Zlatan. Those rocks would generate some heat. I wonder how the birds cope with that?
