Description:
Small weevil with an abundant covering of scales in brown, tan and black, making it well camouflaged on bark. It was about 4 mm long. It drops and plays dead when disturbed (last picture). Family Curculionidae.
Habitat:
Came to an ultraviolet light, however I found it on the window screen. It must be able to fly well. Finca Argovia, Ruta de Cafe, Soconusco area of southern Chiapas, Mexico. About 1 hour from Tapachula.
