Field Notes

Description:

They have a red-olive carapace with black swirls on it. The plastron is mostly plain, and the skin is black and yellow with an orangish tint. The last photo shows a very unusual individual that is heavily speckled.

Habitat:

Found in the Rio Grande drainage in Texas, New Mexico, and Mexico.
