Field Notes

Description:

Yellow and brown Crambid moth with a silvery sheen. About 1 cm long. The last picture was taken June 15, 2013 in the same place. The hair on the prothorax is worn off.

Habitat:

Came to an ultraviolet light in the garden, San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.

Thank you bayucca for the identification. You are right, the species is very variable with respect to the spot pattern, they all look the same, and then again not quite the same.
Crambidae, Pyraustinae, Spilomelini, Diacme sp., looks similar to Diacme elealis. But I am not 100% sure.
